A positive volunteer experience is our first priority. Whether you are volunteering with Mohawk or a community group, we encourage you to do your due diligence and ask the following questions before getting involved:
  • What health and safety protocols, including any COVID-19 related protocols, are put in place to protect volunteers?
  • How will I receive training for this volunteer role?
  • Who will be my direct supervisor? Who can I contact if I have questions or concerns and my supervisor is unavailable?

Description:

Raise the Grade is a BGC Canada National Program that supports high school youth to gain the skills they need to be successful in school, work and life.

We will be setting up one-on-one tutoring/mentoring sessions daily for youth to sign-up for.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

  • Vulnerable Sector Check (within last 6 months)
  • Access to technology 
  • Educational experience in any subject area (please specify which you are comfortable with)

VOLUNTEER EXPECTATIONS

  • Attend weekly scheduled sessions
  • Communicate to Supervisor about any changes to schedule
  • Meet one-on-one with 1-2 youth (with staff support)
  • Support youth with school work 
  • Support youth with other areas such as : resume writing, goal setting, applying to college/university
