Cardiovascular Health Awareness Program (CHAP), Volunteer
The Cardiovascular Health Awareness Program raises awareness of Cardiovascular Disease, empowering better self-care and ultimately leading to better quality of life. The CHAP Volunteer will work in this adaptable model of health prevention to measure blood pressure and conduct risk assessments for cardiovascular disease, stroke and diabetes of seniors in social housing. The CHAP Volunteer is a passionate and enthusiastic individual with a desire to raise awareness, provide health education and refers participants to social resources in their community.
Health TAPESTRY Volunteer
The Canadian Red Cross Society, a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world, is seeking Health TAPESTRY Volunteers for the Community Health and Wellness Tapestry Program. Reporting to the Volunteer Coordinator, the Community Connector Volunteer will work to help people stay healthier for longer in the places where they live. The Community Connector Volunteer will work in this adaptable model of health care to connect senior clients with their primary health care team and their community, through the support of technology. ERT- Emergency Response Team Supervisor
The Emergency Response Team (ERT) is activated for a response that exceeds Personal Disaster Assistance (PDA) Team capacity. The ERT Supervisor may supervise a team of ERT Responders at the local level. The ERT Supervisor will organize and set up and manage a specific service during a response. The incumbent of this position supervises the work of the responders placed under their responsibility. There may be several services on the site.
