Welcome to Mohawk’s Volunteer & Leadership Opportunities Site!

As a result of the rapidly changing situation with COVID-19, all college events and facility rentals on and off campus are cancelled until further notice. Information regarding events can be found at our Mohawk College COVID-19 information website and will be updated frequently.

Please contact student.life@mohawkcollege.ca if you have any questions or concerns.

A positive volunteer experience is our first priority. Whether you are volunteering with Mohawk or a community group, we encourage you to do your due diligence and ask the following questions before getting involved:
  • What health and safety protocols, including any COVID-19 related protocols, are put in place to protect volunteers?
  • How will I receive training for this volunteer role?
  • Who will be my direct supervisor? Who can I contact if I have questions or concerns and my supervisor is unavailable?
Disclaimer: External organizations listed on this site are not always affiliated with Mohawk College. Volunteers should visit community organization websites to learn more about them. Volunteers should never send money or banking information to these organizations.

As we continue to face these uncertain times, Wellwood continues to support clients living with a cancer diagnosis virtually. If you are looking for a way to give back to your community and make a difference, we encourage you to consider applying to volunteer with the Wellwood Cancer Resource Centre of Hamilton.

Everyone who volunteers with Wellwood will undergo a rigorous screening process and orientation, which is a win/win for Wellwood and for their volunteers, by ensuring a good fit for the individual and the organization. Their team is very well supported, with ongoing training and learning opportunities offered.

Volunteer roles include, but are not limited to: online program facilitation, virtual one-on-one or group support, virtual program concierge, organizational and committee participation, and virtual special event assistance.

As an organization committed to inclusion, we especially wish to reach out to communities of colour, refugees and newcomers, as well as all persons who are living with a disability, identify as Indigenous, are of any gender and/or align with the LGBTQ2s+ community.
