A positive volunteer experience is our first priority. Whether you are volunteering with Mohawk or a community group, we encourage you to do your due diligence and ask the following questions before getting involved:
- What health and safety protocols, including any COVID-19 related protocols, are put in place to protect volunteers?
- How will I receive training for this volunteer role?
- Who will be my direct supervisor? Who can I contact if I have questions or concerns and my supervisor is unavailable?

Musical Volunteer - St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton
Music Volunteers exist to provide entertainment for the many patients, visitors, staff and volunteers who frequent the hospital. Music Volunteers may support various departments in the hospital but are primarily stationed in the main lobby area. This program helps to create a welcoming, comforting and positive atmosphere for those in hospital and others coming in for appointments and visits.
Volunteers who support inpatient units work alongside Recreation Therapists.
Music Volunteers may play an instrument (piano, guitar etc.) and/or sing.
1-5 hours of commitment.
