Have a talent for fixing things? We need your help!
Mohawk is hosting its first ever Repair Café and we are looking for “Fixers” to volunteer at the Repair Café.
This event is hosted as part of Waste Reduction Week, October 21-27.
What is a Fixer?
A Fixer is a volunteer who is skilled at repairing any kind of household item – e.g. home electronics and computers, housewares, clothing, jewelry, toys, and/or books. Students, faculty, and staff are all welcome to volunteer. Students will be given credit on their Co-Curricular Record.
What is a Repair Café?
Mohawk students, faculty, and staff bring their broken items to the Repair Café where they will get help fixing them. Most importantly, participants will learn from you – the Fixers – how to do the repair themselves.
It’s free and all are welcome!
Repair Café is a global movement that aims to reduce the waste that is sent to landfill and change society’s throw-away mindset.
